Fall in the Mountains

Fall is definitely here in the mountains - overnight temperature in the 40s, leaves are turning they're magnificinet yellows, oranges and reds, and beautiful clear, crisp days! Abby and I are enjoying our weekend nature walks knowing that it won't be long before the trails will be blanketed in snow.

Speaking of Fall....we have many great fall fabrics in the shop now. Rayon Batiks that coordinate with gorgeous Silk Noil, Brussels Washer, and linen fabrics such as Italian linen, cross-dye and double weave. Check our website for a selection of fall prints by Liberty of London, Westminster Fibers by designers Kaffe Fasset, Tina Givens, and Amy Butler; reproductions of William Morris prints; and wonderful Japanese cotton prints. Cotton voile and handerchief linen is fabulous for shirts and blouses. This "show-stopper" rayon matelasse glowingly speaks Autumn to me....

I see a fabulous Fall jacket in The Sewing Workshop's Onde Jacket--

We are busily preparing for our four day workshop with Linda Lee of Sewing Workshop and Louise Cutting of Cutting Line Designs. They will be here working with thirty ladies to improve their fit or technique skills. We have all kinds of festivities planned from cocktail parties, catered dinners, to a Yes I am from Texas, Chili dinner. I can't give up my roots. It is such a fun event. My whole staff is involved in planning, executing, and hosting for four days. If anyone is interested we have a waiting list and occasionally get cancellations. The event starts October 26 with a cocktail party and runs through October 29. Best of all that week is usually peak season for leaf color in the area. So yes fall is upon us and showing us her glamorous cloak.
