Exciting Arrivals come to Waechter's Silk Shop

January is so dreary to me. I can't wait until spring. Coming to work always makes me feel different. Here in the store we are receiving beautiful transitional and spring fabrics. We have gotten in new knits that can be worn now and later. Tons of lovely cottons are coming our way from the Westminster stable. That includes Kaffe Fassett and one of his newest designers, Tina Givens. Her prints arrived today and they are just lovely. The staff is fighting over who gets the first cut on many of our new bolts. Batiks came in a few days ago and everyone was moving very fast to find the box cutter and get them opened and received. Some of my staff have huge stashes of batiks that they love so dearly.

The new class schedule is up on the web and we have a handful of new samples to shoot for installation on the gallery. Our talented seamstresses are working hard to get the samples sewn in between their regular customers. Samples have grown to over 200. We continue to add new styles to our collection of samples. Each sample is our interpretation of the patterns we carry. It really helps to see how the patterns look when sewn up. Our customers love the eye candy and inspiration they bring.

We have expanded our selection of special order upholstery silk swatches. We added several new books. These are not on the web. Those of you who can stop by will really enjoy looking at them. We can order enough for the draperies in your house or we can order small amounts for a special occasion jacket. One is more glorious than the next. The girls and I drool when we look at them. We have ordered a wide variety of styles for our special order customers and the quality is great on all of them. It really is a luxury to have such a wonderful resource available. It allows us to expand our offerings in a whole new way without huge space requirements that upholstery demands. Our little store would explode if we tried to cram any more huge bolts into her.

Come see all our new things if you are in the area. For those of you who are not our web installer works many nights to photograph and add new merchandise to the web. We hope you enjoy our labors of love.
