New Receipts

We have tons of new receipts coming in this morning. The UPS man blessed us with reorders and new goods. We have several new batiks and six new cottons from Kaffe Fassett and his co-designers. We hope to get them on the web as soon as possible. It takes tons of time to get things prepped to go onto the web. I wish I had fifty hours in a day and the stamina to keep going that long.

Classes are becoming more and more popular. We are excited to see a renewed interest in sewing. More and more young women are coming to us wanting beginning classes. It looks like the beginning of a trend back to creating your own new and exciting fashions.

We have received lots of new and interesting buttons and trims in the last few weeks. They are all on the list to go up on the web. Keep checking it out they will get there soon.

Happy Sewing!

It Feels Like Spring

It is a warmish day in Asheville. The forsythia and daffodils are popping out. I guess I need to go get the crabgrass herbicide. Didn't know you would get gardening info on our site did you? Well it's time to do that, when you see the forsythia blooming.

Yesterday, we got in a major shipment of linens. All of them are cross-dyed and very classic shades of brown, navy and black. Great for three seasons of the year. Some of them have coordinates to make a beautiful top and bottom. One has just a little lurex shot through it and would make a lavish summer jacket or top.

We also are receiving lots of beautiful laser cut trims from France. One is more beautiful than the next. My favorite is the one I am looking at, no matter which I pick up. They are great for trims on pillows and other home-dec projects or they can be glorious on clothes. Any of you who like exotic trims to go on needlepoint projects should check these out.

We have some wonderful samples of adorable Easter dresses for any of you who like to be inspired to make children's clothes. Betsy Sherman does beautiful things for us and we love having her as our children's clothing specialist. She has some super classes to help you make lovely spring things for girls or boys. Check out the pictures on our website under classes and workshops. There are enlarged pictures if you click on the initial thumbnail.

Today the classroom is full of people making kimonos. Some are cotton and others are silk. They are having such fun and their projects are wonderful. One lady is making a glorious kimono to have something beautiful to wear as she makes her husband's breakfast. What a great idea, and
a nice way to start the day.

More and more things are arriving daily. We hope to have them on the web in the next few weeks. Unfortunately, it all takes more time than you can imagine. Oh, to have forty hour workdays. I might get caught up.

Happy sewing. Joyce
